Well, the site is starting to look a bit better. Hopefully the site will be fully functional and up by the end of next week!
Ever since I first layed eyes on The Curse of Monkey Island when I was 11, I have been in love with the Monkey Island series. I’ve played the first two DOS games on a DOS-BOX, bought Escape from Monkey Island when it came out, and downloaded both soundtracks and fan music of the games. So, you can imagine I was delighted to hear that Tell-Tale games was coming out with Tales of Monkey Island! It is being released as a series, with the first of 5 episodes out now. I bought and downloaded the first episode, Launch of the Screaming Narwhal, as soon as possible, and played through it on my leisure over a week or two. It was great! Good voicing, good jokes, nice graphics, and fun story! My only complaint is that the controls are a bit weird, but at least better than in Escape from Monkey Island.
A while ago I had an idea. That idea, inspired by Dinosaur Comics and Garfield Minus Garfield, was to remove all of T-Rex’s spoken text in some Dinosaur Comics to see what would happen. The result is, surprisingly, often quite funny! So, I decided to create a sideproject called Mutesaur Comics, hosted right here on Unicellular, to share with everyone! So, go ahead and check out the first one!
Ever since I started Unicellular, I have tried to stick to a prompt update schedule of updating at midnight (EST) on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Sometimes, a comic or two get delayed because of larger matters, such as passing college or going a week without a computer. But, for the most part, I’ve done a good job. That is, until sometime in May, when I started missing updates left and right, which continued into June and July. By the time August rolled around, I was behind by about a full month. (more…)
I’m a big fan of all sorts of board games, but especially Eurogame type games as well as card games and chess. Also, I tend to be more than healthily interested in randomization. For instance, I carry a die (singular of dice) in my pockets at all times, and asked for some dice for my birthday (and got some cool ones like 24-sided and 30-sided dice!). Also, one of my biggest pet peeves is when people call a single die “a dice”. (more…)
Man, guys, I think I’m getting sick. I’m not sure yet, but I woke up this morning with more than the usual soreness in my throat and a light cough. I really hope it stays rather light, because I don’t think I can afford to get really sick right now. I’ve been trying to wash my hands all the time and all that jazz, but it’s starting to seem like it didn’t help. At least I got the normal flu vaccine, so at least I don’t have that, which basically means its just a cold or at worst the swine flu. We’ll see what happens.
It turns out all I had was a stupid cold! No flu, no H1N1, nothing bad like that, so hooray! I’m feeling mostly better now, which means its a great time to take a poll! So, lend me your thoughts!
[polldaddy poll=2211052]
Well, as they say, the results are in! Far and away, strawberry was the favorite fruit of Unicellular readers (including myself!) with 5 votes. Other vote-getters were apples with 3, blueberries with 2, and pears, bananas, and Jolly Ranchers all with 1. Also, 4 of you like a different fruit than any of those! Pray tell, good readers, what other fruit do you like that I forgot to include?
Sorry, no comic today, the algorithms got the better of me. See you on Thursday!
